These grinders stand as mixed media works of art. Internally they feature the same world class mechanism as our classic mills, but for the exterior we use special root burls that have numerous natural holes and voids into which we inlay crushed turquoise and soapstone.
The unique process involved in making our Specialty Grinders is meticulously time-consuming, and the woods we use are extremely rare.
We offer our specialty mill, which grinds both salt & pepper, in three sizes: 6″, 8” and 10”, and in two different species of wood, buckeye and manzanita. Our photos provide an accurate representation of the options, but since no two root burls are alike, the inlays, wood grain, and patterning will vary. (Currently, the manzanita mill is only available in the 6″ size.)
